Principle of selecting sealing device for glass lined reactor

When the materials in the glass lined reactor are reacting, pay special attention to whether the equipment leaks, because generally many materials are flammable and explosive. In case of leakage, the consequences will be very serious. In addition, the sealing device of glass lined reactor is also essential, which can be generally divided into mechanical seal and filler seal. In general, mechanical seal is widely used.

1. When the sealing medium in the glass lined reactor is flammable, explosive and toxic materials, mechanical seals can be used. When the medium pressure is high, the balanced double face mechanical seal is generally selected, and when the medium pressure is low, the unbalanced double face mechanical seal or unbalanced single face seal is selected.

2. When the sealed medium in the glass lined reactor is a general material, the single end mechanical seal can be selected. When the medium pressure is high, the balanced mechanical seal is generally selected, and when the medium pressure is low, the unbalanced mechanical seal is selected.

3. When the reaction medium has high requirements for equipment sealing and the stirring shaft and transmission shaft bear large radial forces, mechanical seals with built-in bearings are generally required.

4. When the operating temperature of the mechanical seal T>80 ℃ and the circumferential linear speed of the mixing shaft v>1.5m/s, the mechanical seal shall be installed with a circulating protection system.
