The testing method for the shell (or lining) of the glass lined reactor is as follows:
(1) Macroscopic examination
Clean the shell (or village) thoroughly and inspect for defects such as corrosion, deformation, and cracks with the naked eye or a 5x magnifying glass.
(2) Non destructive testing method
Rust and polish the measured point, and use the probe of an ultrasonic thickness gauge to make close contact with the measured part. When ultrasonic waves propagate in the same homogeneous medium, the speed of sound is a constant, but it has the characteristic of reflection when encountering interfaces of different media. It can be directly reflected by the instrument and the thickness of the part can be measured.
(3) Borehole measurement method
When the instrument cannot be used for measurement, the drilling method is used for measurement. You can use a hand electric drill to drill holes and measure the thickness. After the measurement, it should be repaired by welding. This method is not suitable for containers made of materials with poor weldability such as cast iron and low alloy high-strength steel.
(4) Measure the inside and outside diameter of the shell
For the cast glass lined reactor, the equipment with processed inner and outer diameters during use belongs to uniform corrosion. The actual dimensions inside and outside the shell can be measured, and the technical archives can be consulted to determine the degree of equipment thinning.
(5) Air tightness inspection
Mainly for the lining of glass lined reactor. Connect air or nitrogen between the lining and the shell, with a pressure of 0.3~1.0kgf/cm2 (depending on the stability of the lining). When introducing air, apply soapy water to the weld or corroded area to check for leaks; When introducing nitrogen, phenolic test strips can be affixed to the weld seam and the corroded area being inspected. After holding for 5-10 minutes, it is considered qualified if there are no red spots on the test strips.
